 Our children are the future. Can we finally change things for them? Many have tried. WE HAVE A PLAN THOUGH!!

My name is Mike Summers, and I am 51 years old. Born and raised in Duncan, I am a native to BC.  I have seen this province go through bad times. And I have seen BC go through some not bad times, in spite of the junk politicians have tried to afflict us with.

So BC is still my home. I and my wife Wanda live in Vanderhoof and we are raising our grandson Jason.  I was diagnosed with MS in 2005 and all too quickly I found myself disabled. I know what it's like to live on a tight budget. And so, this knowledge of the harsh reality of lower income means that I have learned how to do a lot with little. I make every dollar stretch so far that they scream for mercy.  This is what I am bringing to government. As Premier of BC, I will in the first sitting, bring in our BC Refederation's proposed Direct Democracy Act.  This will empower YOU the voter with powers that you can only dream of now.

Strengthened recall, binding initiatives and a voter veto opportunity on every piece of legislation passed in the legislature. We will make your politicians to be adminstrators for BC, not overlords that dominate you. We are the only party willing to make these changes to the system, and then have you the voter, ratify them so that no politician can take them away from you without your consent.  We are slapping a short leash on POLITICIANS. I'll go first!! And speaking of politicians, remember that carbon tax they stuck on you without giving you an alternative? Consider that tax gone within the first sitting as well.  Oh, and Mr. Campbell? Your high priced pension is going with it. You have taken enough from the people of BC thank you...

Once that is done, we will set to the task of cutting the fat from the public service. MLA offices will be set up in BC Access Centers so that you can access your MLA with relative ease. Rather than having many costly offices set up in each city and town, we will use space already being paid for.

 The court house. It's where you want criminals that  wreck life for innocent people to  see justice and be punished. But we all know that this doesn't happen in BC.  Come on. Let's not be too silly...

We will also be taking criminals to task. BC is full of very nice people. And unfortunately, we have also attracted a large number of not so nice criminals to our province because of the lax judiciary. Judges in BC are not enforcing the laws of the land. And since they cannot be trusted to dispence JUSTICE, we will use the notwithstanding clause in the Canadian Constitution Act, and take away the power to hand down insultingly light sentences to convicted criminals. Judges will be held accountable for bad decisions by a public complaints commission.  Police in BC, including the RCMP, will be subject to the Public Complaints Commission.  BC will no longer be a fun place to be a criminal. If you commit a crime in BC, YOU ARE GOING TO JAIL.

We know that the people of BC want the best for kids. We have a plan to fix the visible shortcomings in BC schools and we also have a plan to make BC POST SECONDARY educations in both acedemic and vocational training both affordable for our young people, and also effective in meeting the needs of our province too. So we have a plan to encourage post secondary students to gravitate toward meaningful and well paying jobs.

And that will also include persons on income assistance. We will find ways to help the poorest people up. Not just help out. And we aren't so mean spirited as the Liberals have been in just kicking people without any skills off of welfare.

I know you will like the plans we have.  So confident am I that you will be happy with the things we will accomplish, that if you will elect a BC Refederation government, JUST ONCE, it won't matter if you ever elect us again. JUST ONCE will make it possible for the voters to absolutely control their own destiny. Will you support us JUST ONCE?
